  • Xalq Bank is one of Azerbaijan’s active full-service banks. It serves both individuals and businesses with a wide range of modern and competitive financial services. Today, the bank has nearly 30 branches across the country, 137 ATMs, and about 3,967 POS terminals.

    History 
    Xalq Bank was founded in 2004 and received its official license on December 27, 2004.

  • 1. Gold
    Xalq Bank offers unallocated gold accounts. Clients buy gold at the bank’s rate and store it virtually — no physical delivery, no VAT, no need for a safe. It’s a simple, reliable way to invest in gold.

    2. Syndicated Loans
    In 2022–2023, the bank took part in major international syndicated loans worth between $1.24 and $1.3 billion, in partnership with Turkey’s Ziraat Bank. These loans supported ESG initiatives and post-earthquake recovery.

    3. Capital Market Services
    In May 2025, Xalq Bank received a license from the Central Bank to offer investment services, including securities trading and other capital market operations. It’s the first commercial bank in Azerbaijan to get such a license.

    4. Own Investment Holdings
    As of June 2023, Xalq Bank owns 100% of Xalq Kapital Investment Company, 100% of Xalq Property MMC, and 98.45% of Baki Ayaqqabi-2 ASC.

  • Xalq Bank focuses on three main areas of social responsibility: the environment, culture, and community support. The bank plants trees, preserves national heritage, and supports people in need — and has been recognized for these efforts.

    Environment
    Tree-planting campaigns in Baku, most recently in Mushfigabad on November 28, 2024, in partnership with the Ministry of Ecology.
    Earlier, the bank funded a forest in Turkey: 25,000 trees planted near Mersin, now known as the "Xalq Bank Brotherhood Forest" (16 hectares).

    Culture & Heritage
    Through the National Heritage project, the bank helps preserve and publish Azerbaijani cultural and literary works.

    In 2018, Xalq Bank received an ABA award for its social, cultural, and sports initiatives.
    In 2024, it was honored at the Banking Awards for its continued work in education and social projects.

  • Q1 2025 Results
    Xalq Bank’s total assets grew to AZN 3.044 billion, with the loan portfolio reaching AZN 1.887 billion. Customer deposits totaled AZN 1.819 billion, capital stood at AZN 519.1 million, and net profit was AZN 11.86 million.

    Moody’s Rating (2024)
    Moody’s upgraded the bank’s ratings:
    Baseline Credit Assessment (BCA) raised to b1
    Long-term deposit rating raised to Ba3
    This reflects strong capital, a diverse funding base, and stable deposit levels.
