The Albanian Church is an ancient Christian church that originated in Caucasian Albania. This church was formed in the 3rd–4th centuries and was mostly spread in the northwestern region of Azerbaijan. The Albanian Church played an important role in the cultural life and history of Caucasian Albania. Later, the institutions of this church came under the influence of the Armenian and Georgian churches. Today, some ancient church buildings in Azerbaijan are examples of the architecture of the Albanian Church.
