  • Azadliq prospekti is a key subway station on the Green Line (Line 2) of the Baku Metro, located in the 8th microdistrict of the Binagadi district. Operated by "Baku Metro" CJSC, it is considered one of the most modern infrastructure objects in Azerbaijan's capital. The station is distinguished by its unique architectural structure and its significance as a transit hub connecting the city center with northern residential areas. It plays a vital role in easing the city's overall traffic burden.

    History: 

    Inauguration: The station was officially opened on December 30, 2009. 

    Architectural Feature: It was the first single-vault, column-free station ever built in the history of the Baku Metro. 

    Construction: Engineering technologies from Germany and other European countries were utilized during its construction. 

    Modernization: Between 2024 and 2025, the lighting systems and platform equipment underwent a full digital upgrade.

    Team: 

    Management: Overseen by the station services department of Baku Metro CJSC. 

    On-site Staff: The team includes station masters, platform duty officers, escalator operators, and technical maintenance personnel. 

    Security: Round-the-clock security is provided by the Police Department for Metro Security.

    Payment Systems: Terminals for recharging "BakıKart" and purchasing new smart cards. 

    Underground Passages: Four exits providing access to Suleyman Sani Akhundov Street and Azadliq Avenue.
