Baku Court of Appeal - a second-instance court that reviews appeals from first-instance courts in civil, criminal, administrative, and economic cases. The court is divided into four chambers: civil, criminal, military, and administrative-economic.

Acceptance and review of appeals in civil, administrative, economic, criminal, and military cases previously considered by first-instance courts.

The right to file an appeal within 10 days from the date of receiving the first-instance court decision.

The court actively implements electronic justice: with the “Electronic Court” system, visitors can file appeals online, receive notifications via SMS and email, and watch court sessions remotely — making the system more transparent and convenient while reducing the burden on citizens.
The court regularly holds events with universities: for example, in May 2024, a judge from the criminal chamber spoke to social work students, explaining the connection between mental health and the legal system.
The court is integrated into reforms aimed at improving efficiency and transparency: such as equipment modernization, staff expansion, and performance evaluation of judges — measures focused on enhancing justice quality and public trust.
