Bandovan State Nature Reserve (4,930 ha) is located in the Salyan district of Azerbaijan and covers an area of 4,930 hectares. This reserve was established in 1961, and its main purpose is to protect endangered animal and plant species in the Caspian lowlands. It includes wetland, meadow, and forested areas. Various bird species, wild animals, and rare plants are protected here. The reserve is a "temporary sanctuary," meaning it is set aside for the protection of nature for a certain period.
