  • Buta Airways was an Azerbaijani low-cost airline, founded in December 2016 as a subsidiary of AZAL (Azerbaijan Airlines).
    The fleet consisted of 8 Embraer E190 aircraft.


    History:
    The airline was founded in 2016 but began operations on September 1, 2017, replacing AZALJet, and operated flights from Baku and Ganja to Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Georgia, Iran, and Bulgaria.
    In October 2023, Buta Airways was merged into AZAL, and its brand was officially closed. The low-cost fares were transferred to a new service class, “Buta Budget,” under the unified AZAL brand.
