Teahouse is the name given to traditional places for drinking tea in Azerbaijan. Here, people meet with friends and neighbors to drink tea and have conversations. Teahouses are an important part of the country’s social life and usually have a simple, cozy atmosphere. In some teahouses, games such as dominoes, backgammon, and chess are also played. Mainly brewed tea and local sweets are offered here. It is possible to find many teahouses both in large and small cities, as well as in villages, throughout Azerbaijan.
