Doner is a popular dish prepared by cooking thin slices of meat as they rotate on a vertical spit. As a snack shop, these establishments mainly offer fast and delicious food. For doner, beef, lamb, or chicken are most commonly used. Sides such as tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and sauces are served with the meat. It is presented either in bread or as a wrap. Doner shops are widespread in Baku and in many other cities across Azerbaijan.
