Alinja Fortress is a historical defensive structure located in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. The fortress was built in a mountainous area and erected on high cliffs. Throughout history, it has been used for defense purposes in many wars. Alinja Fortress is an example of medieval Azerbaijani architectural style. From here, it was easy to observe and protect the surrounding areas. The fortress is recognized as an interesting historical site for travelers and tourists.
