Gilgilchay Wall is an ancient defensive wall located in the northeast of Azerbaijan. This wall was mainly built during the Sasanian period, that is, in the 5th–6th centuries AD. The wall begins at the Caspian Sea and extends to the Gilgilchay River. Its purpose was to prevent attacks coming from the west. Gilgilchay Wall is an interesting monument in terms of history, archaeology, and scenery. This site is considered a popular destination that attracts tourists and history enthusiasts.
