Caravanserai is an ancient structure that occupies an important place among historical and civil constructions. It was used as a comfortable shelter and commercial center for merchants and travelers on long journeys. Many caravanserais still exist in Azerbaijan, and some of them operate as museums or restaurants. The main purpose of building caravanserais was to provide travelers with a place to spend the night and to ensure the safety of their goods. These structures played a significant role in the economy, trade, and urban planning of the Middle Ages.
