Kesan (3,811.7 m) is one of the highest mountains in Azerbaijan. This mountain is located in the Zangezur mountain range of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The Kesan peak is a popular destination for mountaineers and nature lovers. Here, it is possible to observe the diversity of landscapes and the richness of flora and fauna. At the foot of the mountain, meadows and forests predominate, while in the upper part, rocky areas and snow fields are more common. This natural area is used for tourism and scientific research.
