A church is a place of religious worship and a gathering place for Christians. In Azerbaijan, churches mainly belong to Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestant communities. These places are used for worship, prayer, ceremonies, and religious events. Many churches are also preserved as historical and cultural monuments. Ancient churches operating in some of Azerbaijan’s major cities are among the interesting sites for tourists to visit. The architectural style and interior design of churches reflect different Christian traditions.
