Lachin State Nature Sanctuary (21,370 ha) is a specially protected natural area covering 21,370 hectares. It was established in 1961, and its main purpose is to protect the animal and plant species in the region. The sanctuary is mainly composed of oak, hornbeam, pistachio, and pine forests. It provides habitat for species such as bears, roe deer, mountain goats, and various types of birds. Lachin State Nature Sanctuary (21,370 ha) is an important area for the conservation of nature and the protection of rare species. It does not have temporary reserve status; it is a permanent state nature sanctuary.
