Lake Masazir is a salt lake located on the Absheron Peninsula. The lake has abundant salt reserves, and salt has been extracted there for years. The salt collected from Lake Masazir is used in both households and industry. The surface of the water takes on a pinkish hue because special microorganisms live there. Several companies operating around the lake are engaged in salt processing. Lake Masazir is one of the country’s largest and most important sources of salt.
