Melioration and Water Management Directorate

The Melioration and Water Management Directorate carries out the management and distribution of water resources in Azerbaijan. This directorate is responsible for melioration, that is, the irrigation of land and the regulation of water. Its main area of activity includes the construction and operation of facilities necessary for the irrigation of agricultural lands. It develops and implements projects to ensure the efficient use of water and the preservation of soil fertility. The directorate helps to prevent water shortages in rural areas and to maintain the productivity of the land.
