A mosque is a sacred place where Muslims gather to worship. Mosques are used not only for prayer but also for religious education and community meetings. Some mosques have one or several minarets, from which the call to prayer is announced, inviting people to pray. Mosques are widespread throughout cities and villages in Azerbaijan, and their architecture reflects both local and Islamic styles. Each mosque has its own history and architectural features, making them important centers of culture and faith for the community.
