A Mosque is a sacred place where Muslims worship. In Mosques, people pray, hold religious gatherings, and learn religious knowledge. Often, Mosques have tall towers called minarets next to them, from which the call to prayer (adhan) is announced. Inside the Mosque, there is a main prayer hall and, in some cases, a separate section for women. Mosques are sometimes also used for religious ceremonies and social activities. In many cities and villages of Azerbaijan, Mosques of different sizes can be found.
