A Mosque is a special building where Muslims perform their prayers. Daily prayers and Friday prayer are held in Mosques. Minarets are often located on or next to them, from which the call to prayer is announced. Mosques are used as gathering places for religious ceremonies and events. There are many Mosques in various cities and villages of Azerbaijan. These buildings are of great importance to the community both religiously and culturally.
