A mosque is a sacred place where Muslims worship. In mosques, people perform prayers, hold religious classes and events. A mosque and its minarets are not a construction or repair company, but a religious and public building. Many mosques also have minarets, which are tall towers from where the call to prayer is announced. Mosques have specially designated prayer areas for both men and women. In many cities and villages of Azerbaijan, there are mosques from various periods.
