A Mosque is a sacred place where Muslims worship. The main building of a Mosque usually includes a prayer hall, an area for performing ablutions, and a section with religious books. Minarets are tall towers rising next to the Mosque, from which the call to prayer is announced. In Azerbaijan, there are many large and historic Mosques in operation. Mosques are also used for religious ceremonies and cultural events for the community.
