A Mosque is a place of worship for Muslims where prayers are performed. Mosques and minarets are usually religious centers where devout communities gather. Minarets are located next to the mosque and are generally built for the call to prayer. Each Mosque may differ in its internal order and rules. Mosques are also used for religious ceremonies, educational classes, and charitable activities. There are hundreds of mosques in Azerbaijan, and many of them are preserved as historical monuments.
