Mosque is a special religious place where Muslims worship. In mosques, people perform prayers, make supplications, and receive religious lessons. Very often, mosques have minarets at the front, from which the call to prayer is announced. In Azerbaijan, there are many historic and new mosques. Some mosques are also used for religious education and social events. They are considered important spiritual centers both for the local community and for the city.
