Mosque is the sacred place where Muslims worship. Mosques and minarets are the main locations for religious worship, and congregational prayers are performed here. Many mosques in Azerbaijan have great historical and cultural significance. Religious events and religious education classes are often held in mosques. Minarets are an integral part of the mosque and are usually used for the call to prayer. Each mosque is distinguished by its own architectural style and local traditions.
