A Mosque is a sacred place where Muslims worship. Its main purpose is to provide a space for people to perform prayers and hold religious gatherings. Minarets are often located near the Mosque, and the call to prayer is recited from these minarets. The buildings are usually spacious and feature separate sections for men and women inside. Mosques play an important social and religious role in both the cities and villages of Azerbaijan. One of the most famous mosques in Azerbaijan is the Shamakhi Juma Mosque.
