Mosque is the name given to a place of worship in the Islamic religion. Here, people perform prayers, make supplications, and receive religious education. Mosques and minarets are recognized as religious monuments and are primarily built for the Muslim community. Religious ceremonies and community gatherings are often held in mosques. Frequently, minarets are constructed next to mosques, and the call to prayer is announced from the minaret. Mosques serve as both religious and cultural centers.
