Mugan is a vast, flat, and fertile region located in the southeast of Azerbaijan. With favorable conditions for agriculture, Mugan is mainly engaged in cotton growing, grain cultivation, and vegetable farming. The villages and farming enterprises here form the main part of the rural economy. Irrigation systems are well developed in Mugan, which has a positive impact on productivity. Many of Azerbaijan's agricultural products are obtained from the Mugan plain.
