Namazgah is a special place set up for worshipping outdoors. These places are mainly found in villages or on the outskirts of cities. At Namazgah, people gather to perform communal prayers together. Some historical Namazgah sites are also preserved in Azerbaijan. This is an open space chosen for worship by religious communities and groups. Namazgah plays an important role in the social life of villages and small settlements.
