Necropolis is the term given to special areas where the dead were buried in ancient times. A cemetery, on the other hand, is a place where citizens are buried and their memory is honored. In Azerbaijan, the word “Necropolis” is mainly used for archaeological and historical monument sites. There is no company or organization operating under this name in Azerbaijan. Necropolis is used only in contexts related to history and archaeology.
