Pakhlyava is one of the most famous sweets of Azerbaijan. It is made from dough and usually contains walnuts and honey inside. In places such as tea houses, Pakhlyava is often served together with tea. The top part of Pakhlyava is covered with sweet syrup and it is cut into diamond shapes. This sweet is present on tables during the Novruz holiday and on special occasions. In tea houses, Pakhlyava is very popular among both local customers and tourists.
