Pir is known in Azerbaijan as a place of pilgrimage and is considered a sacred site. People pray here, make vows, and hold various religious ceremonies. There are usually trees, springs, and ancient stones around the Pir. Some Pir sites are dedicated to the memory of historical figures and hold special significance for the local population. Every year, hundreds of people come here to visit and fulfill their traditions. Such places are a part of Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage.
