Pir is a religious or spiritual pilgrimage site. In Azerbaijan, places called Pir are considered sacred among the people, and individuals come here to pray. Some Pirs are ancient shrines or sanctuaries, where people believe that their wishes will come true. Pir sites are usually located near villages and towns and play an important role in local traditions. Here, people generally make vows and perform various religious rituals. Pir is a part of the religious beliefs and traditions that have been passed down since ancient times in Azerbaijan.
