Pir (sanctuary) is one of the sacred places that has been visited since ancient times. In Azerbaijan, “pir” usually refers to areas chosen for spiritual and religious belief. People come here to pray, seek healing, and make wishes. These places often contain a grave, or a tree or spring considered sacred. Pir (sanctuary) holds special respect among the people, and various religious rituals are carried out here. As a place of pilgrimage, Pir (sanctuary) has significant historical, folkloric, and religious value.
