  • Police Academy is a school where future police officers are trained. It is located in Baku. The academy teaches law, working with people, safety, and order. Courses include both theory and practice—from law to physical training. Graduates work in the police, border guards, and other services. You can apply after finishing school. To get in, you need to pass exams and go through a selection process. This place is for those who want to protect people and follow the law.

History: It was founded by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan in 1992.

Team: The academy is led by a rector. As of 2025, the rector of Police Academy is Police Major General Farman Aliyev. He is responsible for the study process, discipline, and overall management of the academy.

  • Training of police officers: Cadets study law, shooting, physical fitness, and how to work with equipment and people.

Internships and practice: Cadets undergo training, participate in shooting exercises, and take part in inter-university events.
Dormitory and meals: Cadets live on campus and receive three meals a day in a cafeteria with a capacity of up to 1,000 people.
Medical services: The academy has its own medical unit with doctors and emergency support.
Sports: Three gyms, hand-to-hand combat training, and physical fitness programs; some cadets are world or Olympic champions.
Education: Bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs are available, along with courses in law and information security.
Scientific work: There are departments for research training. Teachers improve their qualifications, and some write dissertations.
Ideological center: Includes a museum, lectures, and meetings about the legacy of Heydar Aliyev.
Online learning: The "Virtual Academy" project offers remote courses.
Graduate placement: Top graduates receive the rank of lieutenant immediately. Others are assigned to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other bodies through a lottery.

  • Police Academy also takes part in social work. Here’s what that means:
It holds free lessons and talks for school and university students about rights, the law, and how to behave in society.
It teaches respect for the law and public safety — this is part of how cadets are trained.
It supports orphans and children of fallen police officers by giving them admission benefits.
Academy teachers speak in schools and on TV to explain what police work is like.
Cadets help during holidays, clean-up events, and public campaigns.
It publishes materials about law and safety so people can better understand their rights.

  • New Faculty: In 2025, a new Faculty of Information Security was opened. It will train specialists in data protection and cybersecurity

Sports Achievements: In June 2025, shooting competitions were held, organized by the Sports Society under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
