Defensive Walls (5th–7th centuries) are ancient defensive structures in Azerbaijan. These walls were mainly built to protect cities and settlements from external attacks. Constructed from stone and sometimes brick, these walls reached several meters in height. Observation posts and watchtowers were placed on them for surveillance. Defensive Walls (5th–7th centuries) demonstrate the level of development of defense systems of that era. These monuments are among the important examples of Azerbaijan’s historical architecture.
