Galaboynu Fortress is a historical defensive structure located in the Shamakhi district of Azerbaijan. This fortress was built on the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus Mountains, in a strategic high position. Galaboynu Fortress was mainly constructed from stone and was used to defend the surrounding areas. Parts of the fortress walls and some sections of the fortress have been partially preserved to this day. Historians note that the fortress was used for military purposes during various periods. The area around the fortress was once an ancient settlement and is of tourist interest.
