The village of Garataghlar is located in the Lachin district of Azerbaijan. Since this village is situated in a mountainous area, agriculture and livestock farming are among the main occupations. Garataghlar was once inhabited, but at present, some of its residents have relocated for various reasons. The area surrounding the village is known for its natural beauty and clean air. Garataghlar village is considered one of the ancient settlements of the region.
