Qarayazi-Agstafa State Nature Reserve (11,970 ha) is a temporary protected area of the reserve type, covering 11,970 hectares. This reserve is located along the Agstafa River and its main purpose is the protection of rare animal and plant species. Measures are taken in the area to preserve wildlife and maintain ecosystem stability. Here, forests, birds, and small mammals are mainly protected. It is possible to conduct scientific and nature-related research in the reserve. Human activity, however, is strictly limited.
