The Maiden Tower is a 12th-century monument and museum located in the heart of Baku. It stands in the Old City (Icherisheher) and is protected by the government. The site is managed by the Icherisheher Administration.
History
The tower was built in the 12th century, though its foundation may date back even earlier — to the 6th–7th centuries.
Since 2001, the Maiden Tower has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, along with other monuments of the Old City.

The tower is run by a team of restorers, tour guides, security personnel, and museum staff, all working under the Icherisheher Administration
