Gizilaghaj State Nature Reserve (88,360 ha) is a large nature reserve covering an area of 88,360 hectares. This reserve is located on the Caspian Sea coast, in the Lankaran region. It mainly protects wetland, forest, and grassland ecosystems. The reserve is an important habitat for rare bird species, fish, and other animals. Its purpose is to protect nature and biodiversity, as well as to conduct scientific research. The reserve's activities are managed within the national parks system of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
