Gyzgala (1,023.1 m) is an ancient historical monument located in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. It was built on top of a hill near the village of Jahri, in the Sharur district. The fortress was constructed during the Middle Ages for defensive purposes and held strategic significance. Local residents tell various legends about Gyzgala. From here, it is easy to view the surrounding natural landscape. The fortress is an interesting destination for tourists and history enthusiasts.
