Reserves are special areas established in the Republic of Azerbaijan to protect rare natural sites. In these areas, animals, plants, and natural ecosystems are preserved from human impact. Any agricultural activity or construction is prohibited in Reserves. The main objective here is to conserve natural resources for future generations. The most famous Reserves in Azerbaijan are the Zangazur, Gizilaghaj, and Shirvan Reserves. Scientific research and tourism are also possible in these Reserves under certain conditions.
