Shamil Fortress is a historic defensive structure located in the Gabala district. The fortress was built in the 19th century by followers of Imam Shamil from Dagestan. Its main purpose was to protect the area from enemy attacks. The walls of Shamil Fortress are made of thick and durable materials. Today, the fortress is one of the monuments that attracts the interest of tourists. Due to its historical significance, it is frequently visited by both local and foreign guests.
