Sadarak Fortress is one of the ancient defensive structures and is located in the Sadarak district of Nakhchivan. The fortress dates back to the 3rd–1st millennia BC and was mainly built from stone materials. Historically, the fortress was used for the defense of the surrounding territories and occupies a strategic position. Today, Sadarak Fortress is considered one of the important monuments of Azerbaijani history and culture. Archaeologists have discovered many ancient artifacts here, and the fortress is an interesting site for tourists. Since this building was mainly established for defensive purposes, it is an example of military architecture of its time.
