Shamkir Fortress is a historical defensive structure located in the city of Shamkir, in the western region of Azerbaijan. The fortress was built in the Middle Ages to defend the city and its surroundings. Its walls and towers were constructed for strong defensive purposes. Throughout history, it has been destroyed and rebuilt several times. Currently, some parts of the fortress remain, and it is mainly visited as a tourist attraction.
