Sangar (Ancient) is a deep trench dug into the ground to protect people from the enemy. They were mainly used for defense during wars and attacks. Sangar (Ancient) was reinforced up to the top with a barrier or an earthen embankment. It was constructed so that soldiers could hide and gain an advantage in defense.
