Lake Siyanashor is a salt lake located in the west of Iran, in the south of Ardabil province. The water level in the lake changes seasonally and in some years it dries up completely. The lake is mainly fed by water accumulated from precipitation in winter in the surrounding region. Around the lake, there are mostly plains and wetlands. Lake Siyanashor is also an important habitat for birds and some aquatic animals. In recent years, ecological problems have been observed due to the decrease in the lake’s water.
