A Reservoir is a large artificial lake constructed for water storage. In Azerbaijan, Reservoirs are mainly used for regulating water resources and irrigation. As hydrological monuments, reservoirs are often important for energy, agriculture, and drinking water supply. These structures help prevent floods and increase water reserves during droughts. Among the large reservoirs in Azerbaijan are the Mingachevir, Shamkir, and Varvara Reservoirs. Each reservoir is constructed using local investment, technology, and engineering solutions.
