A Reservoir is an engineering structure specially built for the collection and storage of water. In Azerbaijan, reservoirs as hydrological monuments facilitate the efficient use of water resources. These reservoirs play an important role in agriculture, drinking water supply, and energy production. The largest reservoirs in operation include Sugovushan, Mingachevir, and Shamkir. Reservoirs are beneficial for flood prevention and for preserving water resources for the population.
