A Reservoir is an engineering structure built for the collection, storage, and distribution of water resources. In Azerbaijan, many Reservoirs improve the supply of water for agriculture, drinking purposes, and industry. The construction and operation of Reservoirs are handled by organizations known as Hydrological Monuments. These structures are also used for flood prevention and energy production. Reservoirs come in various sizes and are sometimes also called water basins. They are of great significance for the environment and society.
